Namaste and Greetings fellow chai lovers!
Much thanks and respect for the efforts of the chai! site folks for updating their site. There is perhaps no greater topic than 'The Larger You' which is the Self which is Love. My wife Jenny and i spent four months traveling in India and Nepal for the 'soul' purpose of tracing our love of chai back to it's roots.
By entering the lives of people in a distant land we realize that we are all the same, “same-same but different” as it was said so many times during our travels. Although we have different language and lifestyles, as we sat and shared chai together, we recognized that we all have the same desires, for love and earthly sustenance and safety for our children. We all smile and have the potential to rise above the difficulties of human existence, finding happiness in the simplest of things -- like a cup of chai. Chai warms the heart with an unseen ingredient that cannot be tasted or smelled, the timeless tradition of stopping for a moment of stillness and taking time to connect with one another. This archetypal element is unknowingly sipped, but always treasured, by anyone who drinks chai.

Peace to all you chai drinkers !
If I drink a lot of highly caffeinated drinks, my stomach rumbles and complains and sends things through me more quickly than I like, but if I drink organic chai, the herbs are like a tonic and I can focus on being calm. So love your stomach as well as loving others. |

Yes patrick, very true.
That's what I love about the people who share an interest in chai. They often look further than others, reaching for the "common denominator" in human beings. They refuse to lose that perspective even within a larger society than often does.
I like being reminded of that, and I thank you for the post, which gave me pause to reflect once again on the greater realities of life.
I also enjoyed reading your blog. Best of luck with the Chai Pilgrimage book!
Namaste, |
