The most enjoyable way to drink chai is at an Indian railway station early in a winter morning when a station hawker passes you a baked earthen cup (no foam cup please) through the train carriage window. The fragrance of the baked earth cup (KULLARH) seems to enhance the tea fragrance. Never mind if the train has started moving and you have not paid the tea seller. He has somehow come inside the carriage to get his money. Evokes many memories of my travels in the Indian trains. The last pleasure was to throw the Kullarh away to make the loudest bang!
