Free tea in earthen baked cups was served in 1930s by a touring Cinema company (Bioscope company). We sat on wooden benches and watched the movie on a make shift screen. The tea tasted too sweet because they used `gur'(Unrefined cane sugar. It was a very effective advertising medium because see how popular tea drinking has become in India. There used to me an enamel sign board mounted on a wall high up near where I lived showing a moustached young fellow sipping hot tea in. The two line ditty underneath announced: Yeh shakhs or iska bhai (This young man and his brother)
